The problem with the lean-to roof structure is that the vertical clearance is very tight, which is part of the reason it failed under the severe snow load. We are looking at options for replacing it, but no decision has been reached. What ever plan is devised will not depend on the shop wall for support.
The caboose and outfit car have since been removed and the lean-to dismantled. The only damage to the cars was a small ding in the outfit car roof and a bent hand rail on top of the caboose. We got off lucky there.
