Hello Again -
I just came across several photos that William Reed sent me a couple of years ago; this one of the CCC train parked in Montrose seemed especially relevant to this thread:

And since the colors of passenger cars are being discussed, here are two more from William's collection, taken in Salida in 1939:

The colors may be a bit off; I used the ends of the body bolsters to set Photoshop 'levels' to medium gray both above and below:

This third photo of a Parlor Car was taken in Durango in 1950:

Finally one more for all you model builders – the business end of the stub switch in Villa Grove, circa 1949:
