Business car Rico at the CRRM had a repaint several years ago. Removing some old original paint over the end door revealed "green" paint with a repaint date in hand painted gold lettering dated 1918 on top of the green paint. We left the lettering exposed with a small frame around it. We were told the railroad administration USRA during WW1 had mandated all passenger equipment be painted green. I guess they classified Rico as passenger equipment. Under the green layer was "Tuscan Red" paint. Sometime after 1918 Rico was repainted with the red color.
