Status of Maui's "Sugar Cane Train"

I was watching a video someone shot & posted a couple years back, on that site where people share videos, of the Lahina Kanapili & Pacific tourist train, in the comments section was a post from two (now three) days ago stating that the steam locomotive "Myrtle" and possibly "Anaka" have since been "cut up for scrap" to quote the poster. Can anyone here confirm this, and/or update me on the current status? Last I heard, was it hadn't operated since Christmastime 2016' with a re-opening date of sometime this year. Any concrete info would be appreciated. Thanks.
