The first pocket calculators I recall were so heavy that they would stretch a shirt pocket all out of proportion and end up ruining the shirt.

As for my HP 45, I recall going to the restroom once. The belt loops on the jeans were spaced so I had the calculator between the first and second loops on the right side. When I stood up, the calculator was so heavy that the belt pulled through the loop and the calculator headed for the toilet. It hit the edge and fortunately bounced into the wall and then the floor. It would have been one heck of a way to loose a calculator in the water. I'd heard of time standing still and this was one time I saw it. I was earning about $2.50 (minimum wage was $1.65 an hour) an hour and the calculator was (by then) $299. Thing was, that the slide rule would have only needed cleaning and it would have been back in operation.
