If you're looking for Army diesels from WWII, I find it best to look into what Hawaii had at the time. From Whitcombs to GE, the Army and Navy had a large assortment of diesels. Emailing the Hawaiian Railway society might be a good start, as they have three navy locomotives and one army. They also have information about many of the other engines and cars the railways used.
