I'm a retired specialty flatbed trucker. Oversize, overweight, ice roads, ect. We were careful, stopped frequently, and had and my infrared gun for the tires and (freshly packed) bearings. When they were asking me about it, I checked all the trailers available between the railroad, the Friends, and my own, and insisted on doing the driving. We averaged about 50mph on the trip, which, if you know the road, didn't win Russ and I any popularity contests...
Trust me, after 7 years on the road, from Key West to Prudhoe Bay, I know -exactly- what you mean.
