Just a note that the NCNGRR museum has begun the process of preparing to switch out the old boiler for the replacement boiler. We have removed the throttle valve assembly from the steam dome and are preparing to remove the dry pipe. The steam chest valves are being prepared for lapping and the pistons being evaluated. The air pump is also in the process of being rebuilt at this time. We are doing as much as we can do while the engine is in the museum display building prior to moving it into the restoration shop. Thanks, John Christensen, Restoration Mgr.
