These cars were originally built for commuter service on the North Pacific Coast. I think that these were built as spartan cars -- I think I found a newspaper account and they (or another order) did not have stoves for heating. No idea how the cars were lighted then or later on the North Shore or the NWP. Or on the WP&YR.

Key design feature would be single or double burner per lamp fixture.
