the official report is that 476 has made some progress since the new smoke box was installed, including new cab floor and staybolt sleeve work, however it has been mostly on again off again work in the past few months. Most focus has been on the 473, 482 and 486. With those coming together work will resume in greater force on the 476 beginning with the rear flue sheet replacement, completion of the riveting and smokebox work and then driver work and reassembly. There is no set date for a return to service however we do intend to use it predominantly for the 2017 -18 winter trains along with the 473. So for those that want to see K28's in action make plans to come ride the Polar Express or the Cascade winter train in 2017-18.
