Hi,
I am still learning the CAD system and getting better at the model design. If someone out there has done 3D model before and can help me out with one issue, I can send an STL back channel and you can modify the one point so I understand how to do it, I'd appreciate it. To repeat, please contact me back channel.
I have two working WIN XP machines (some of my preferred software is still DOS) - one main one and a backup in case the primary fails.
I have one Win 7 machine that has some disk problem I think. I can not run the 3D printer on the XP machines but it will run on WIN 7. So I'm not yet functional.
Shapeways is too expensive for me at the moment. If the model works on my home 3D printer, I might upload the parts to Shapeways and offer them at my store at a cost plus price. Too far in the future to decide for certain. I do have the Silverton RR Baggage-Express #5 (2nd hand from D&RG 30' passenger car) in three parts - roof, body, and frame/end platform. I also have the 25' 4-wheel D&RG baggage car in three parts ready for printing. The 4-wheel frame is a conditional ready. It assumes you do not want journal boxes - they are currently designed like the old AHM Minitrains industrial 4-wheel equipment. The wheels can be gauged to either HOn36 or HOn30 or even HOn42. Just use the correct wheels and spacers to keep the wheels centered.
