In the mid-late 1990's, the C&TS hauled in the high 60K range. The biggest years was in '98 when GBart ran the place when reported 72K. A number that was debated as to its authenticity.

In the mid-1990's over half the Chama departures were double headed. Every fall weekend train was triple headed, we even ran a couple of mid-week triple headers. We were real busy.

As far as I know the busiest year the D&S ever had was 1989, the year the roundhouse burned. They got lots on unintended publicity out of that event.
