Now for a couple of bonus pics….
First we have the Movie Train in the hole at Cresco as 489 on the point of #3 passes. The only day this could have been taken is on 9/7 when we took the train from Cumbres to Lobato late that afternoon. What I don’t get is we would have left Cumbres after #3 passed. I’m confused by this pic.
Lastly, I mentioned that Lucas Film's contract was to restore every thing to its original appearance after the shoot was done. That they did. And he did a great job too. Their guys spent nearly 2 weeks replacing the Murphy roofs on the boxcars, repainting everything, then lettering all the cars. 484 got a complete paint job, down the tri-colored herald. Here she is helping 489 out of Chama past Jukes Tree on Oct. 3, 1988.
