First off the Cedar Fair (out of the blue) told us with no warning that a truck was coming to load up the 2-4-4 in about 3 days. And they said they were going to leave us the Jennie K and we were ordered to make her run. So after more than a years worth of work to the 2-4-4 she left with no explanation.
So be begrudgingly started to assess the loco. She wouldn't even hold water long enough to hydro it. She needs major boiler work or better yet a new boiler. She was rode hard an out away wet. The smoke box had very badly dusted through at the saddle, the fire box sheets and rear tube sheet looked terrible. She had many broken stay bolts with the heads welded over to stop the leaks.
We told Cedar Fair what it would take to do it but we never heard from them.
