In the woods of the Sumpter Valley Railway are the remains of a Baker White Pine Lumber Co. / Stoddard Lumber Co. shower car. It has long since collapsed, but the rounded rafters are still visible. The rafters are round notched, I believe, for tanks of water to sit. Does anybody have photos of a shower car set up in camp? Maybe an idea of what the interiors would have looked like? Most camp cars I have heard of were built by the logging companies themselves, and I assume were very spartan and utilitarian. Did any major railway manufacturer build camp cars, maybe a shower car more worthy of a visit from Vanderbilt?
