The 600's & 900's certainly have a serious scowl; it's to bad one of the latter isn't available for some mainline excursions (although given U.P.'s policy of "NO Foreign Engines" - not even those of lines Uncle Pete has absorbed - I'm not sure where she could run.)
I don't recall seeing the small diamond you mention that was attached to the front of #610 - was this perhaps after her AFT days, when she was leased to the Southern for a couple of years? Here she is on the Army Base at Fort Worth on two successive mornings - February 24 and February 25, 1976

Can anyone spot the difference - other than the lighting and camera position - in those two photos taken roughly 26 hours apart?
