The town of Sutter Creek, CA, now owns the historic Knight Foundry property and structures - see [www.knightfoundry.com]

In addition to its major role during the latter years of the gold rush in California, Knight Foundry has been important to us railfans in more recent times by supplying custom cast iron parts to the California State RR Museum, the Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources and Dan Markoff's Eureka, among others (see [www.spcrr.org]).
