West Virginia oddity - Re: Re-gauging equipment

Hi,

A while back (maybe a year or two?), there was a thread on an 0-4-0 or 0-6-0 loco with some steel EBT cars. The track gauge was 36" but the teapot was something 36.5" or 37". It was a little too wide.

The simple conversion they did was lift up the one side of the loco so the flanges cleared the railhead and add some rollers with flanges at 36" gauge. Sort of training wheels on a bicycle. The could run it on their 36" gauge at a cost of about 1/2 the tractive effort and/or made it very slippery. It was or was to have been an amusement park I think.
