So last time i asked about stove placement in a combine like Dan's and got no answers, so maybe this will....

While looking at a b'mann c-19 on fleebay I noticed that the rgs version had one round dome (the steam dome) and one ringed dome. That made me think of a picture I have seen of a former D&RG class45.5 ten wheeler that the rgs had bought and it had also had the steam dome changed. Any ideas what that was all about? Was there some change in throttle equipment that made changing the dome necessary?
