These are what I found for 1948 in the form of photos, so not exactly sure details of the trips other than what is mentioned. Looks like two different trips.

1948 Sept 18,1948 494 11 cars At Crested Butte, Co also Gunnison Departed from Salida-Perry Photo
Sept 19, 1948 361 at Cimarron, CO RMRRC
Sept 19, 1948 498 and 494 At Sargent RMRR club (2 days??) 494 road engine
Broken Valve Gear near Sapinero on the 19th (Perry Photo) 361
