Ridgway, CO 2017 event schedule

The Ridgway Railroad Museum has set its 2017 event schedule. As previously reported here, our annual work week will be June 5 - 9. We'll most likely be concentrating on RGS coach 252 and getting ready for the arrival of the 36, but may also have another project by then. If the principal work topic changes, I will notify everyone here. Y'all come, we'll feed you lunch each day, and there is a lot going on in the area in the evenings, so you most definitely won't be bored in your off hours.

Our annual Ouray County Railroad Days history weekend will be September 21 - 24 this year, to try to get everyone a chance to experience fall colors, which usually peak here on or around October 1st. These four days will feature guided hikes along the Silverton Railroad route on Red Mountain Pass, a model railroad layout open house, talks, special events at the museum on Saturday, and guided car tours of the Ouray branch D&RG and RGS from Ridgway to Lizard Head Pass. The recreation of RGS 36, the steam 4-4-0, is continuing. Assembly has been under way for several months. Delivery is still expected sometime this summer.
