When my dad and I got into HOn3 in the late 60's all there was in the way of passenger trucks were those awful things made by Kemtron. You had to drill out the holes in the side frames for the axle holes, then solder the damned thing together ( dad wasn't very handy with a soldering iron and I - at 9 years of age - was even worse). Getting one put together with the wheels and the side frames square was just about impossible. Keeping your passenger cars on the track was even harder. It was years before someone made die-cast frames with axles holes predrilled that you could ACC together, and even longer before someone imported brass ones. Grandt's styrene ones weren't even a glimmer in Clif's eye then.
