Shipments would have continued past 1968 had the D&RGW not been hell bent on abandonment and transferring shipments to it's trucking fleet. The last actual rail shipment was made because the receiving vendor refused the delivery by truck and mandated it be shipped to him via rail. If the D&RGW had been serious about pushing freight over the SJ extension in the mid to late 60's trains probably would have run into the 70's.(guessing here) It's been posted here at various times the activity of the last few years so search the archives and you'll probably find some info.
