For, I think, the fifth year in a row, this is a reminder that on this date in 1953 (12/7/53) engine 485 ran, under its own power, into the turntable pit at Salida. For those of you who in a recent thread regarding the last operating day for various locomotives, still didn't have the last day in steam for the 485, despite annual reminders, now is the time to update your list so that when this topic comes up again, which it invariably will, you will be able to note the date.
