BTW, in session C when we were putting in the chimney liner and removing the pipe inside the room in order to get ready for the pump test in session E, one of our team members hiked up the hill alongside the pipeline all the way to Lava Tank. When Tom opened the frost house door he said something like 20 rats scattered out of there as fast as they could. Looks like your visit was much tamer.
Most of the trees and bushes growing up next your pumphouse are now removed, and Leon Beier spent 2 days there session D with a backhoe removing well over 50 years of dirt and silt that had built up around the exterior of the pumphouse. One side had dirt up to the window sills, (about 2 feet). The Friends project committee is working on a plan to put in a small retaining wall to keep the hillside dirt from covering the building again.
