Waiting for the train to leave the Antonito station I was checking out the 168 when a short stout middle age guy wearing an elaborate leather kilt, high leather boots & a Motley Crue concert T shirt ran up yelling "I want to see the 168!". He was followed by 3 or 4 younger guys also wearing Motley Crue T shirts who seemed uneager to observe the wonders of the Antonito engine house.
Later at the dessert line at Osier I said "nice outfit" and received a noncommital thank you in an American accent. Jeez, this guy must be a real fan of what I always thought was a mediocre heavy metal band that should have called it quits about 30 years ago. Or...
Back home I looked up the band on the internet and there he is...Vince Neil, lead singer of Motley Crue. Further research brought up a sighting of Vince buying models of GP30s for a three car garage sized model railroad depecting Denver Union Station circa 1964.
Next time I'm at Osier I will keep my eye open for Rod Stewart & Neil Young and have a Ticket To Toltec book handy for autographs!
