Water Tower at Willow Creek Siding

July 08, 2016 03:20PM
I have been doing some researching on structures along the San Juan Extension of the Denver & Rio Grande. I have been having some troubles with locating any photos of the water tower and coal sheds that was located at MP. 347.7 just to the North (East bound) of the Willow Creek siding. I was wondering if anyone has or have uncovered any photographs of the water tank and coal sheds. I have an 1889 D&RG track drawing of this siding that lists these structures. Does anybody know when these structures were removed or did they stay in use until abandonment of the line in the 1960's?

Thank you,

Ethan

We have witnessed valley
and plain and crest,
Canon and pass we've scanned;
We have seen the best
of the glorious West,
by the trail of the Rio Grande
