All of the original Sumpter Valley cars we have at McEwen, except for tank car #100, have this type of draft gear, even the three cabooses. The coupler shanks that go with them are the stirrup type however. I think all wooden freight cars on the S.V. used this type, with the possible exception of the 70000 series flat cars. If you want to see of one of these disassembled check out caboose 6, now in the car shop.

These things are in four pieces, so if one of them came out intact it must have been a fairly serious accident.
