DSNG 476 and 478 status

As part of our long term plan to ensure our historic fleet of steam locomotives will continue to pull trains for many more years, over the next 18 months we plan to restore Locomotive 476 (built in 1923) to top operating condition. This locomotive has not been under steam since September 1999. Other locomotives will join the rotation as the work proceeds. Locomotive 478 has been taken out of service until it is her turn but you can view her in the D&SNG Museum. This will be the last time you will see both K28 locomotives in the roundhouse together for a long time!
