There actually is a button on the toolbar that allows columns to be displayed properly. It is the "Formatted Code" button, 6th from the right on the message toolbar. Here is a sample:
Number Class In Service Out of Service Previous Owner & #
1st 1 60 Class (C-16) 1890 1904 D&RG 242
2nd 1 56 Class 1906 1913 D&RG 56/RGS 35/BC&F 1
2 60 Class 1890 1916 D&RG 256
In playing with that sample, I find the best way to line up the columns is to
count the spaces between columns as you type them. Since you can't see individual space characters, its difficult to tell how many spaces are in
copy-n-paste text. The columns only line up visually after using the Preview function (before posting).
