I was just thinking (always dangerous) that had the 478/483 trade occured and the SL&RG allowed the Antonito yard to be 3-railed, a restaging of the Chilli line passenger train arriving from Santa Fe behind 168 meeting the Durango-Alamosa passenger train (under many different names) at the Antonito Depot could have been done.

Or vice versa, the train separating at Antonito. How long has it been since a passenger train was on the remnant of the Chili Line?
Oh well. We can not go back and change history, the 478 is still on the Silverton.
