Uintah #30

May 04, 2016 05:36AM
Was going through a Sundance Ltd. Book last night and read that the #30, the only outside frame Locomotive that operated on the Gilsonite Route wasn't superheated but did have a tractive effort of 30,300 lbs, my question would be if it had been superheated would've that changed the tractive effort any. Also curious why the RGS didn't look at purchasing her was she too heavy for the Trestles.

Still a Student,

Dave
