At this writing, the D&SNGRR uses 5 different types of trucks under their freight and passenger car stock.
1. Steel Wood trucks, built in the 1880s for D&RG, steel sandwiched and bolted around oak wood (aka fish plates)
2. Steel trucks, built in the 1880s for D&RG, all steel, some plates are stamped D&RGRY indicating they are from 1870s.
3. Steel Wood trucks, D&SNG-built in the 1980s using blueprints from original steel trucks. Oak was purchased from the Amish who kiln-dried it to prevent warping.
4. Steel trucks, D&SNG-built in the 1980s using blueprints from original steel trucks.
5. Bettendorf trucks, steel trucks utilized starting in 1930-40s.
