Alpine tunnel & Marshall pass

Planning a trip this July to the area. Never been over the Marshall pass grade route and Alpine tunnel. Drive a Toyota Tundra. From what I've read both trips
are pretty tame so not really worried to much, I mean its not like going down Black Bear!! I've heard the route to Alpine tunnel is narrow up on the palisades
and that there are very few pullouts.
Just looking for trip advice, any tips, etc. Is there any railroad remnants on Marshall pass? I know of two water tanks I think on the way to Alpine tunnel.
