Bradshaw's decision to rebuild was swift. I received a call about 9:30 the morning of the fire from Amos Cordova who wanted me to let the folks in Silverton know that it was already decided to rebuild the roundhouse and that trains would run on schedule at the start of the season. We had heard about the fire earlier that morning and as I was working our restaurant that morning, it had already caused quite a stir in town. I had a tour of the roundhouse about a week later and cleanup and work on the damaged engines was already well under way.
