Surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but today marks the 27 anniversary of the disastrous roundhouse fire that could have ended the Silverton. Thank goodness Bradshaw saw the importance of rebuilding. If he had not done so, you would be riding a bicycle over the scenic rails to trails route along the Animas River.
