A-firmative! That is true.

Ryan, you may want to re-read what you just wrote. How could a "old" 50mm lens (presumably from from a 35mm film camera) be roughly equivalent to a 75mm lens on 35mm film?
To really see the difference, you need to try a longer focal length. The difference becomes more apparent as the focal length increases. Try a 200mm DX lens on your DX body and then try a 200mm FX lens on the same body. I've done it right here in my den. That 200mm FX lens still says 200mm, but it has more reach than the 200mm DX lens on that body. It does. Believe it or not!
