Special tool for 473

Awhile back someone posted a photo of a K-28 with some long thing sticking out of the fireman side above the cylinder. Many theories and ideas came across. But someone had the right answer(Earl?) And that was it was a piece of wood holding the the snifter valve open.
Well today when I came into work I saw this on 473.
A really long 2x4, it worked then and it still works now.
I just thought some of you would enjoy this.
