One oF The Most Famous Narrow Gauge Engines Ever!

And she isn't even a steam locomotive!

Yes, you know the one I am referring to. Those of us with the Sumpter Valley Railroad Restoration will always know her as Sumbper Valley #101. Bult by Davenpoert in the 1930's to switch the yards at South Baker #101 performed those duties well even after the SVRy itself was scrapped in 1947.

She lasted in service until the last of the narrow gauge track was returned to the UP in 1962. She then went to Durango to serve the D&RGW as thier #50 and switched the Durango Yards for more than a decade. She then went on to serve the Roaring Camp & Big Trees RR in Felton, California where we see her in this 1979 photo. After a perio of private ownership she now rests as part of the Colrodo Railroad Museum roster in Golden, Colorado.
