Sam,thats roughly the area I was trying to get to last September, except up on the hill further behind you!! Maybe someday!

The down side of getting up on the hill south of this shot is that you get farther from the track. Last year, I got on the hill, south, as I wanted to get the train going around the upper loop. That may have been the beginning of my "how far from the train can you shoot video". I am editing another distant shot for Youtube right now. I am also thinking about another distant shooting spot for next weekend. When I get rich, I am going to shoot the C&T from low earth orbit.

Anyway, the shot I mention in this thread is one of my very few "pretty close" all the time videos. Modern video cameras with great zoom lenses. Perhaps a curse.
