D&RGW Marker light colors

Specifically to D&RGW classification lamps on the front of an engine, would the lenses be changed to show different colors? Or, was there one color on one side and one on another of each lamp? (the lamps would be turned around to show proper colors)

Found the info on the above questions...

I have read before, but cannot find, what would the colors be in the early 50s? Were they always clear and green (?), or did they change over time?
