And the woman who owns this stretch of land has offered to let us rebuild the SN, assuming we get to Howardsville, so that we could access the Old 100 mill area just below the mine tour. Those 3 bridges plus the fourth one lower down would be killers to build. Of course, building a bridge across the Animas to access Howardsville would be a monumantal project, though we have considered a different approach using the new highway culvert over the Animas that could support both the road and railroad. This is a ways off--we are about to start laying the first demonstration piece of track later in August, then on to Howardsville.
