Debuque (Iowa) Newspaper headlined the sale by C,M,StP,&P to the new B & C on June 9th, 1933. Not sure when the actual transfer took place but sometime later than that. So the answer to yur question is "yes."

Never heard that one before. I kinda doubt it as Cuba was flat broke in the 1930's. Lovely story of how they got their team to LA for the Olympics in '32 by putting them on an old tramp steamer and filling it up with sugar, cigars, etc and then selling/bartering some at each port they made to cover fuel, port fees, etc. Besides, #3 had been supplying parts for #2 for some years before #2 quit running in '34. But I don't know for sure one way or the other.

ps Isn't it wierd that the last surviving members of two classes of DSP&P engines were both to be found in Iowa in the 1930's?
