San Luis Valley operations

I was paging through my "Narrow Gauge Country" and there is a photo of a NG SB freight at La Jara. The train is moving (not switching). The first two cars are SG "coupler" cars with no other SG cars. When SG cars were spotted in route out of Alamosa were the "coupler" cars always left at Antonito or where the last SG cars were spotted? I refer to the cars as "coupler" cars to differentiate them from the pipe train "idler" cars. JP
