I approached this project with the mindset towards fine art, both while behind the camera and in Photoshop later. I always wanted to do a black/white-only gritty presentation, I'm extremely proud and happy how these turned out. I appreciate everyone liking them as well.
Rich:
I try not to focus on the technical side of photography as much, as in talking settings, megapixels, sensor characteristics, ISO, F-stops, gear, or which camera manufacturer is better than the other. I try my best to capture the scene before me as well as possible, and pay as much attention to detail when working them in the computer afterwards.
Ed:
To my eye, when color is stripped away from an image the textures, tones, patterns, definition, and contrast becomes more prevalent. All of these photos looked good in color, but really came to life when converted to monochrome.
Brian:
Yes, seven of these are shot with my early 80's 35mm film camera, using Kodak P3200 TMAX. I'm a huge fan of grain, this film provides very pleasant results.
Guy:
In the final years leading up the closure in December of 2011 only #15 was in operation, all others were occasionally pulled out of their stalls for photo shoots but were not under steam.
I keep the faith that the EBT will once again be in operation.
