Chama in August, 1967 (more Moldy Oldies)

Hi, all -

As noted elsewhere, during my visit to Narrow Gauge Country in August, 1967, I was ex-Sperry-menting with 2X and 3X telephoto extenders on 'Old Scratch', my dad's Practika 35mm camera with a 55mm normal lens, hoping to get a few somewhat different shots.  Nearly all my pics that summer turned out different, all right – really horrible! – which of course I didn't find out until I had the film and slides developed after I got home.    

One of the few shots on one roll of slides and two rolls of B&W negs that turned out sort of O-K – apparently taken without either of the &^(%$#)!! extenders – is this one, taken in Chama on 08/29/67, which I'm re-posting "full size" here mainly because it shows a little of the "downtown" area in the background that looks quite a bit different today, including what appears to be a clock tower that I don't remember ever noticing before:


SFAIK, the second caboose was on the eastbound freight that day to accommodate John Gruber and his companions who had ridden westbound the day before.  See the May, 2015 issue of Trains magazine for additional information.
