NNG - Recent RR history

Hi,

I am re-reading a Science fiction/alternate history book published in 2001. It is set in 2005.

1) alien invasion c2002 that eliminates air travel. Background.

2) Santa Fe Railroad along Canadian Border only east-west connection. I assume this is the BNSF merger railroad. When did this occur (1997)?

3) Conrail line in Rochester NY - talks about the Conrail railroad. When did CR become NS/CSX/Shared Assetts (CR)?

4) Clinchfield RR - When was this absorbed into CSX?

Other than Western Pacific, when did D&RGW first get trackage rights beyond its traditional narrow gauge Colorado/Utah region. Where did it get to? I think it got to Kansas City but do not recall.
