It's hard to be sure Dave -
But both sets of cylinders of the loco in your photo look to my tired old eyes to be the same size. If so, it's a simple articulated 2-6-6-2 – not a true Mallet.
And speaking of Locos, I think Roosso's 2-8-0+2-6-0 compound Mason-Garrett idea has more promise:

It's hard to be sure Dave -
