In that case, about like firing a 490 as to the number of scoops to a fire, I reckon.

The air-operated firedoor is quite a ways above the deck.

Fascinating machines at any rate!

Also, I wonder what the capacity of that coal bunker on the back of the cab was....5 Tons? Don't look very big.
