C&TSRR To Install Welded Rail

Earlier it was reported that the C&TS will be rebuilding the US 285 crossing in Antonito. Further investigation determined thet the track panel is approximately 55 ft long, has new SG ties, and 115 lb rail rolled CF&I, 1983. The rail sections are freshly welded (note rusty spots). I was told that 115# is being used so that concrete will be thick enough to hold up to all the heavy truck traffic. The Roadmaster is obviously building for duration.
The C&TS is indeed fortunate to have such a highly capable professional handling track and bridges.
